A Tennessee man is facing charges after he allegedly fatally shot his roommate who he believed had entered his bedroom without permission, per PEOPLE.
24-year-old Davis Owolo Jr. was charged with criminal homicide in connection to the killing of his roommate, Joshua Ishan Wilson, 33, earlier this month.
According to police, the shooting unfolded on Wednesday (March 5) around 9 p.m. at the roommates' home on Birchmill Point South in Antioch.
“Owolo was reportedly upset that Wilson may have attempted to enter his room when he wasn't home, which Wilson denied,” The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said in a statement. “Witnesses present attempted to deescalate the situation before shots were fired.”
When officers responded to the scene, Wilson “was located at the top of the staircase with fatal gunshot wounds," police added.
Owolo Jr. fled the scene with his girlfriend following the incident. He later surrendered at the police station on Thursday (March 6).
It's unclear what led to the shooting. Authorities are still investigating the incident.
Owolo Jr. is currently being held without bond.
