Google Calendar has removed observations including Black History Month, Women's History Month, and Pride Month amid President Donald Trump's efforts to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion policies and initiatives.

According to The Verge, Google Calender also erased Indigenous People Month, Jewish Heritage Month, Holocaust Remembrance Day, and Hispanic Heritage Month from its pages amid the DEI crackdown.

Google users started the cite the changes earlier this month, calling the move "shameful."

“Calendar used to capitulate to fascism,” one user wrote on the Google Calendar Help page. “This is shameful. Reinstate these calendar dates!!!”

“These bootlickers have immediately shown us who they are,” another user wrote. “I thought I was the only one who noticed! Let’s spread the word! Google are Nazi sympathizers.”

In a statement, Google claimed it removed the celebrations last year to "standardize" its calendar to only include public holidays and national observances classified by timeanddate.com.

“Some years ago, the Calendar team started manually adding a broader set of cultural moments in a wide number of countries around the world,” a Google spokesperson said in a statement.

“We got feedback that some other events and countries were missing — and maintaining hundreds of moments manually and consistently globally wasn’t scalable or sustainable,” the spokesperson added.

The tech company noted that those who wish to include additional holidays can subscribe to a third-party calendar or create their own events.

Earlier this month, Google eliminated its diversity hiring goals. The company said it was reviewing Trump's recent executive orders along with court decisions aimed at rolling back DEI.

Google also officially switched the "Gulf of Mexico" to the "Gulf of America" on its Maps app on Monday (February 10).
