A Secret Service agent has been removed from Vice President Kamala Harris' detail.

On Thursday (April 25), Anthony Guglielmi, chief of communications for the Secret Service, said the special agent was removed from Harris' detail earlier this week after exhibiting "distressing behavior," per NBC News.

The agent "began displaying behavior their colleagues found distressing," Guglielmi said in a statement. "The agent was removed from their assignment while medical personnel were summoned."

According to reports, the agent, who remains unidentified, was involved with Harris' departure on Monday (April 22) from Joint Base Andrews, Maryland as she was headed to Wisconsin.

However, Harris wasn't present for the "distressing" behavior. Harris was at the Naval Observatory, the VP's residence, at the time of the incident, and her departure wasn't affected.

“The U.S. Secret Service takes the safety and health of our employees very seriously,” Guglielmi said in a statement. “As this was a medical matter, we will not disclose any further details.”

Other details about the incident remain unclear.
