A Walmart employee in California is "no longer with the company" after being accused of targeting a Black customer.

According to ABC7, the customer, who wishes to remain unidentified, said he was leaving a Moreno Valley, California Walmart the day before Thanksgiving when an employee blocked the exit and demanded to see his receipt.

“You people always trying to steal,” the employee said, according to the customer.

The worker then started to take items from his cart, the customer told ABC7.

"I was like 'what are you doing?'... I chased him down, said give me my item and I took the item back from him and then he went to my cart and took the other items out of my cart," the customer said. "So basically we're fighting over the items... and then I said 'Just give me a manager. Give me a manager'."

In footage of the incident obtained by ABC7, the Walmart employee repeatedly hurled a "derogatory word" at the customer.

Robert Arrieta, a Walmart spokesperson, said the company doesn't “tolerate discrimination of any kind,“ per the Los Angeles Times.

“While we do not share specifics of employment decisions, the person in the video is no longer with the company,” Arrieta said.
